Srinagar August 15 (KNO) : On 72nd Independence Day, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) unfurled the Tricolour at Congress Party Headquarters Srinagar and celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. Pradesh Congress Committee today organized a function at Srinagar Party Headquarters to celebrate the 72nd Independence-day, in which Senior Party, Leaders ad functionaries participated and exchanged greetings.

The Party leaders, on this occasion, unfurled the Tricolour and distributed Sweets. Senior Leader & Former Minister Taj Mohi U Din, MLC Vice President Gulam Nabi Monga, Spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, Mohd Sultan, DCC President Irfan Naqib, Abdul Gani Khan, Gulam Mohd Shiekh, Shameema Raina, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, Arif Maqbool, Mohd Hussain Wada, Saira, Shameema Mir, Basharat, Zahid Bashir and others were present.

The Party Leaders while greeting the Nation, reminded it of the selfless services and sacrifices given by the Congress Leadership for achieving the freedom from British Colonial Rule, saying that it is was only due to the sacrifices of Party Leadership that Nation achieved freedom from suppression and oppression. Congress Party fought the battle for the dignity and honour of the Nation, they said.

The Nation would continue to remain indebted to other Freedom Fighters, who even sacrificed their lives for achieving their goal of Freedom from Colonial Rule, their sacrifices will continue to lead the Nation at the path of secularism, harmony and unity, they said.

Taking the opportunity of 72nd Independence Day, Pradesh Congress Committee reiterated it’s appeal to people to rise against the divisive politics of BJP RSS responsible for the chaos and disharmony in the country, besides cautioning that Saffron Terror will further vitiate the atmosphere in the Country, emphasizing people to defeat the exploitative politics of BJP RSS hell bent upon to divide people on communal lines for the sake of grabbing power. Congress Leaders hoped this Independence-day will usher in an era of peace, prosperity and development in the Country and State as well.
